Backstory

Born to a well-off Sharlayan family, Violet was originally set to live a life of study and science. She was enrolled in The Studium at the age of 14 with a focus on the study of Aether, and would’ve graduated if she hadn’t dropped out at 17. After overhearing her parent’s plans to hand her away in an arranged marriage, she took the next ship to Eorzea, dropped her given name for a new identity, and vowed to start a new life. Landing in Vesper Bay and journeying to Ul’dah, she became an adventurer.Picking up the art of Red Magic in Gyr Abania, she found a love for mixing swordplay with magic.Her distaste for the Adventurer's Guild and the Echo began in the years that followed. Awakening to what others consider a gift, the Guild pushed her to join exceedingly more dangerous quests with other travelers. One such excursion led her into an expedition she never speaks of, one that leads her to drink if its memory appears in her mind. After this she's vowed to dedicate her aetherology studies to ripping the Echo out of herself.
